The SouthWest Ohio DX Association (SWODXA) has announced that Dave Anderson K4SV will be the featured speaker for their 25th annual DX dinner™. The dinner, held in conjunction with the 2010 Dayton Hamvention®, will be on Friday, May 14, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dayton.
Dave was first exposed to amateur radio while living in Germany with his parents, who worked for the US Army. He returned to the US and was first licensed as a novice in 1974. The Ham Radio hook was set.
Today Dave lives in North Carolina where he has a successful business that provides equipment for commercial communications companies. He spends his spare time as a DXer with 335 countries confirmed. As a DXpeditioner, he has been to such remote places as Peter One Island, Baker Island, Bhutan and Africa, among many others.
He credits his success in commercial two-way radio to his hobby of ham radio as this stimulated his interest in electronics. As a devout ham, Dave encourages all of his employees to become hams. And, because of his fondness of CW, he conducts code as well as theory classes. Dave is definitely an active promoter of our hobby. He puts many hours into bringing more people into the hobby, and helping those who are already in, to understand it technically.
Dave will have an informative and entertaining presentation on DXing. We look forward to hearing him, and hope you join us.
For more information and to order dinner tickets, visit WWW.SWODXA.ORG.
