Hams on Twitter Meetup
The Dayton Hamvention is schedule for May 20-22, 2011. Talk has started on Twitter of doing a meetup so that we can all put a face with our Tweets and voices on the #HamTwitNet. The thought is to meet during the Hamvention itself for a meet n’ greet, and then folks can wander around the Hamvention with the friends they’ve made on Twitter afterwards.
If you’d like to meet the Hams you’ve gotten to know so well on Twitter, we will be meeting on Friday and Saturday at 11am and 3pm at the Hamvention Docking area. It is located just to the east of the North Hall Entrance. See the Hamvention Inside Exhibits Map.
Sunday we will meet again at 11am at the Dock, and then one final time at 1pm in the arena. Where we will be sitting can be determined at our 11am area. We will work on establishing 2 or 3 #HamTwitNet frequencies for people to monitor as well so we can stay in touch.
Thanks for taking the time to respond, and we (hopefully) look forward to meeting you! Please visit http://www.hamtwit.net or email Craig, KD8NJZ@arrl.net for more information
Friday: Meet at the Dock 11am & 3pm
Saturday: Meet at the Dock 11am & 3pm
Sunday: Meet at the Dock at 11am Meet at the arena at 1pm, in section 3 & 4.

We are excited about our new venue. It is less than five minutes from our previous location, has a much larger capacity, and the dining room is on the ground floor so there are no steps. There is ample, free, on-site parking.
As in the past, there will be some major door prizes. And there is always great anticipation as to who will be named the “DXpedition of the Year”. Program details and a list of the prizes will be available soon at www.swodxa.org or www.swodxa.blogspot.com.

There will be a cash bar starting at 5:30 p.m., with dinner served at 7:00. Tickets are $40 each, payable in US funds. Sorry, we do not process Paypal or credit card payments. If a vegetarian meal is desired, it must be indicated when tickets are ordered. We attempt to honor group seating requests when tickets are ordered together. Each table seats ten, and seats are assigned as the requests are received. Check or money orders, payable to SWODXA, should be sent to Kirk Swallow, W8QID at 3137 Compton Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45251. Be sure to include a SASE for ticket return.

The Marriott is a large hotel with many room choices. Should you need accommodations, their phone number is 937 223-1000 or the website is http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/dayoh-dayton-marriott
