GPS Information

For those of you wishing to use GPS to find your way to Hamvention, the official address of Hara Arena is: 1001 Shiloh Springs Rd. Dayton, Ohio 45415

Parking Information

With thousands of vehicles coming to Hamvention, parking as always is a concern. Visitors are urged to obey all no parking signs and to avoid parking on private property. Your vehicle may be ticketed and/or towed and you will have to pay to retrieve it. There are several parking options.
Salem Mall

Free Parking: Once again free parking will be available behind the Salem Mall and is the easiest way to get to Hamvention. Located at the corner of Shiloh Springs Road and Salem Avenue, which is within 5 minutes of Hara Arena. It is also known as Route 49.

Busses: Shuttle buses will once again be running between the free parking area at the Salem Mall and Hara Arena. If you did not purchase an advance bus pass, bus passes will be available at Salem Mall. Look for a small canopy in the parking lot. There will be a sign that reads “BUS PASS SALES”. Please read the section on bus passes below for important information.

Here is a PDF document with directions to the Salem Mall.

The physical address of the mall (for GPS and mapquest users) is:

5200 Salem Ave, Dayton, OH
+39° 49' 26.94", -84° 16' 49.19"
39.82415 -84.28033

Handicapped Parking:  All handicapped parking arrangements had to be made in advance. The handicapped parking is East of the Arena. Click here for more information.

Paid Parking:  Hamvention has no paid parking available at the Arena, but paid parking starting around $8 per day, will be available in the lots across from Hara Arena.   Hamvention has no control over that parking. It is also on grass lots so weather conditions will determine how many spots are available. Some churches and other businesses in the past have offered paid parking near Hamvention but we have no information on whether any of those spots will be available this year or what their cost might be.  The easiest choice is to park at Salem Mall (see address above) and ride the bus to the Arena.

Other Parking
There are approximately 6,000 privately owned pay-to-park parking spaces near Hara Arena that are not associated with Hamvention® and are weather-dependent.  Most cost between $7-10 per day.

Truckers - bringing your 18 wheeler to Hamvention? Free parking is available at The Salem Mall.

Motorcycle parking - at the arena (over in the corner where it's been before).

Bus Service & Pass Information

The cost of the 3-day Hamvention bus pass from the Greater Dayton RTA is $8. The buses from Salem Mall to Hara Arena will start in time to get the first participants to the Arena at 8 am Friday, 7 am Saturday and Sunday. Attendees will need to purchase bus passes to ride the RTA busses from the Salem Mall to the Hara Arena. Three-day RTA Bus Passes may also be purchased in advanced from the Hamvention advanced ticketing page.

The three-day passes may be used to ride the entire RTA system, which serves many hotels, the Wright Brothers Heritage sites, and the downtown Dayton area. This is a great option for those who are staying at a hotel along the RTA routes. For more information about the RTA system, please visit the Greater Dayton RTA website. Children under 45" or 12 years of age ride free.

Passes for bus service between Salem Mall and Hara Arena will be available for purchase during Hamvention at the Salem Mall lot. 3-day passes will be available on Friday for $8. 2-day passes will be available on Saturday for $6. A Sunday only 1-day pass will be available on Sunday for $4.

ADA/Handicapped Parking Procedure

Hamvention as many of you know does not have any public parking immediately at HARA Arena: however, it has been our desire and policy for many, many years to help accommodate those individuals with special needs. We are very sensitive to those needs and have gone well beyond all regulations to secure (at extra cost to Hamvention) a limited number of spaces for these needs. Unfortunately the demand for ADA/Handicapped parking continues to grow dramatically each year and we simply are unable to accommodate everyone who requests a space. Therefore, as in past years we require you send in a copy of your State Issued ADA Parking Certificate, along with a SASE and we will process your requests in the order of which they are received. Please Remember: There are a very limited number of "Reserved" ADA/Handicapped parking spaces available so get your requests in early. Also, we have set aside (20) "Reserved" ADA Parking spaces for those individuals who are unaware of/or choose not to follow our instructions and register early. Please understand if you choose to wait and just come to the show the probability that you will find no ADA/Handicapped spaces available is extremely high.

Again, we STRONGLY urge you to send in your request early and in advance of the show. The parking fee for ADA is $10.00/day per car and $30.00/day for campers and etc. payable at the gate. (Please note: overnight campers and etc. are not permitted at Hara Arena, except for the vehicles parked on the perimeter of the ADA parking lot)

Hamvention ADA Parking Permits …

We still have a limited number of ADA Parking permits for 2014

Do not send payment with your application. Oversized vehicles of any type may be restricted to where, how, and if, they may park.

Pre-registration is required. Please send the following information:

1. Your name, call sign, and address.
2. Number of days you will be using the Parking Permit.
3. We need your daytime, evening, and weekend phone numbers.
4. A copy of your State ADA Parking Permit. If you had a Hamvention® ADA parking permit last year, you need only send your 2013 permit provided your State permit does not expire prior to the end of the event .
5. A self-addressed stamped # 10 envelope to:

ADA Parking
P. O. Box 1446
Dayton, OH 45401- 1446

Please do not send payment with your application. We hope to have all the ADA parking tickets mailed prior to May 11, 2014, providing we have them in house by May 7, 2014. Any requests after that date, we will hold your pass for pick-up at the ADA Parking Lot.

Golf Cart Services
The golf cart committee continues to provide no-cost shuttle rides for customers to/from the ADA parking area and the main arena from 7am - 6pm. For safety reasons, we do not take passengers in and out of the flea market area. However, if you are in the flea market and you purchase a large or heavy item we do provide hauling service based on availability. To ask for such assistance, please visit the flea market office and we will assist you ASAP. Please understand there may be a delay as we are sometimes assisting other customers.
