GPS Information

For those of you wishing to use GPS to find your way to Hamvention, the official address of Hara Arena is: 1001 Shiloh Springs Rd. Dayton, Ohio 45415

Parking Information

With thousands of vehicles coming to Hamvention, parking as always is a concern.  Visitors are urged to obey all no parking signs and to avoid parking on private property. Your vehicle may be ticketed and/or towed and you will have to pay to retrieve it. There are several parking options.
Salem Mall

Free Parking:  Once again free parking will be available behind the Salem Mall and is the easiest way to get to Hamvention. Located at the corner of  Shiloh Springs Road and Salem Avenue, which is within 5 minutes of Hara Arena. It is also known as Route 49.  Shuttle buses will be running to Hara Arena.  If you did not purchase an advance bus pass, bus passes will be available at Salem Mall.  Look for a small canopy in the parking lot.

Here is a PDF document with directions to the Salem Mall.

The physical address of the mall (for GPS and mapquest users) is:

5200 Salem Ave, Dayton, OH
or
+39° 49' 26.94", -84° 16' 49.19"
or
39.82415 -84.28033

Handicapped Parking:  All handicapped parking arrangements had to be made in advance. The handicapped parking is East of the Arena. Click here for more information.

Paid Parking:  Hamvention has no paid parking available at the Arena, but paid parking for $8 per day, will be available in the lots across from Hara Arena.   Hamvention has no control over that parking. It is also on grass lots so weather conditions will determine how many spots are available. Some churches and other businesses in the past have offered paid parking near Hamvention but we have no information on whether any of those spots will be available this year or what their cost might be.  The easiest choice is to park at Salem Mall (see address above) and ride the bus to the Arena.

Camper Parking Areas

KOA bus service
There WILL be daily regular bus transportation from this location to Hamvention (bus passes are $3/day, $8/weekend). The schedule is being arranged at this time, and will be similar to last year's.

Bus Schedules

We will have the bus schedules posted shortly. The buses will start in time to get the first participants to the Arena at 8 am Friday, 7 am Saturday and Sunday.

Other Parking
There are approximately 6,000 privately owned pay-to-park parking spaces near Hara Arena that are not associated with Hamvention® and are weather-dependent.  Most cost between $7-10 per day.

Truckers - bringing your 18 wheeler to Hamvention? Stay tuned into this web site for updates.

Motorcycle parking - at the arena (over in the corner where it's been before).

ADA/Handicapped Parking Procedure

Hamvention as many of you know does not have any public parking immediately at HARA Arena: however, it has been our desire and policy for many, many years to help accommodate those individuals with special needs. We are very sensitive to those needs and have gone well beyond all regulations to secure (at extra cost to Hamvention) a limited number of spaces for these needs. Unfortunately the demand for ADA/Handicapped parking continues to grow dramatically each year and we simply are unable to accommodate everyone who requests a space. Therefore, as in past years we require you send in a copy of your State Issued ADA Parking Certificate, along with a SASE and we will process your requests in the order of which they are received. Please Remember: There are a very limited number of "Reserved" ADA/Handicapped parking spaces available so get your requests in early. Also, we have set aside (20) "Reserved" ADA Parking spaces for those individuals who are unaware of/or choose not to follow our instructions and register early. Please understand if you choose to wait and just come to the show the probability that you will find no ADA/Handicapped spaces available is extremely high.

Again, we STRONGLY urge you to send in your request early and in advance of the show. The parking fees remain the same as last year: $8.00/day per car and $25.00/day for campers and etc. payable at the gate. (Please note: overnight campers and etc. are not permitted at Hara Arena)

Hamvention ADA Parking Permits …

We still have a limited number of ADA Parking permits for 2010

Do not send payment with your application. Oversized vehicles of any type may be restricted to where, how, and if, they may park.

Pre-registration is required. Please send the following information:

1. Your name, call sign, and address.
2. Number of days you will be using the Parking Permit.
3. We need your daytime, evening, and weekend phone numbers.
4. A copy of your State ADA Parking Permit. If you had a Hamvention® ADA parking permit last year, you need only send your 2009 permit provided your State permit does not expire prior to the end of the event .
5. A self-addressed stamped # 10 envelope to:

ADA Parking
P. O. Box 1446
Dayton, OH 45401- 1446

Please do not send payment with your application. We hope to have all the ADA parking tickets mailed prior to May 1, 2010, providing we have them in house by April 30, 2010. Any requests after that date, we will hold your pass for pick-up at the ADA Parking Lot.
Please check back here frequently for updates. As soon as we have information, we will post it here.

This restricted loading pass will be good for 20 minutes and will allow you to use a designated area to load and unload equipment or to pick up your exhibitor packet at the Exhibits Office. These passes will be time stamped and must be given to the guard at Exit Number 1 when you leave.
